Afrobeat singer, Dede Mabiaku, has said that the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, was poisoned by the federal government, contrary to reports that he died of HIV and AIDS.
Dede made the shocking revelation while speaking with Object TV.
In 1997, Olikoye Ransom-Kuti, had declared announced that his brother, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, had died of complications arising from HIV.
According to Dede Mabiaku, the late Fela called him and Seun Kuti and told them of his suspicion about being injected at the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.

Dede said that he had kept it to himself for a long time until he saw the manner RevolutionNow convener, Omoyele Sowore, is being treated by the Department of State Services, DSS.
He also expressed his anger at the wrong idea that his friend late, Fela, died of HIV.
He said “He never knew what they injected him with. He just felt something and asked us whether we have seen him sleep face-down before and we said no. And he asked us how come it happened, showing us his side and saying he feels like he was injected with something”.
