Nigerian Idol Returns, Sixth Season Premieres This Sunday

The sixth season of Nigerian Idol is set to premiere on Sunday, March 14, from 6 pm on DStv Channel 198 and GOtv channel 29.

The popular singing competition show will commence with a special airing of the highlights of the auditions (moments deemed to be the most entertaining) which took place in 2020.

DStv and GOtv subscribers will be able to judge the pre-show by rating the performances of the contestants on www.africamagic.tv/nigerianidol where they can also find out if their favourites made it to the list of judges when the main show begins on March 28.

Africa Magic's Channel Director, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, revealed that more than 3,600 young Nigerians participated in the auditions to be part of the show this season.

Nigerian Idol Season 6 will be hosted by popular media personality IK Osakioduwa, and singer Seyi Shay will be the creative entrepreneur. Obi Asika and celebrity DJ Sose will be the judges.

The winner of this season will go home with a recording contract with a prominent record label and N50 million worth of prizes.

Nigerian Idol will also be made available for streaming on Showmax across Africa and in the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Australia and 23 other countries.
