Shola Akinlade Buys Aarhus Fremad

Nigerian IT billionaire Shola Akinlade has made headlines by acquiring 55 per cent of the Danish 2nd division club Aarhus Fremad. Akinlade, who currently lives in the United States and is a director in the software platform Paystack, also runs the Nigerian football club Sporting Lagos.

While Aarhus Fremad is currently leading the 2nd division and is a potential promotion candidate, Akinlade does not have grand ambitions for the club.

Aarhus Fremad's director, Lars Kruse, has stated that there won't be any major changes and the club will continue with its current setup.

"It's actually so boring that there won't be any changes. The plan is for us to continue with the setup we have. There are of course some investments that are just right - some fitness equipment, some GPS trackers on the players and so on."

However, some investments such as fitness equipment and GPS trackers for players are in the works. With the takeover, some of the players from Sporting Lagos will have the opportunity to come to Europe.
