Nigerian Midfielder, Ndidi, Rated Second Best Premier League

Leicester City midfield linchpin and Nigerian midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has been rated the second-best tackler in the English Premier League so far this season.

According to Premier League’s official website, Ndidi has made 72 successful tackles, just two behind his Leicester City teammate Ricardo Pereira who heads the chart with 74 tackles after eighteen rounds of matches.

Leicester City have been having a phenomenal run in the English League this season with the draw at home to Norwich halting a run that has seen the team amass eight victories and one draw in nine matches. Ndidi, who recently celebrated his 23rd birthday has himself been one of the top performers for the club on a consistent basis and has played in all but one of the Leicester’s league matches this season.

The former KRC Genk of Belgium midfielder has scored twice for the Foxes this term, helping propel them to second spot, ten points behind runaway leaders, Liverpool.

Manchester United ‘s Aaron Wan-Bissaka is rated third with 68 successful tackles, while Declan Rice who plays for West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Joao Moutinho are in joint fourth position having made 51 successful tackles each.

Ndidi has also completed 845 passes, committed 24 fouls and has only been booked twice. He has also made 37 clearances so far this term.

The former Nigeria youth international will look to help Leicester City secure a place in the Carabao Cup semi-final when they take on Everton in their quarter-final fixture at the Goodison Park on Wednesday before taking on defending champions, Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in what is bound to be a mouthwatering clash at the weekend.
