1. N-Power Beneficiaries Send Message To Buhari's Minister, Farouq, On Christmas Day

Beneficiaries of the Nigerian government's N-Power initiative are calling on the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq to settle their outstanding stipends as soon as possible.

The National Social Investment Programmes NSIP (an idea the N-Power scheme is one of its elements), which was formerly under the office of the vice-president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and managed by Hajia Maryam Uwais, special adviser to the president on social intervention, was moved to the ministry of humanitarian affairs, disaster management, and social development on October 1, 2019. 2. Biafra: Counsel To IPOB’s Nnamdi Kanu Accuses APC Of Tribalistic Plot

Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to Biafra political activist, Nnamdi Kanu and the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) says 'part of the reason Nigeria is rapidly becoming a failed state is because of the tribalistic plot hatched by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to exclude Eastern Nigeria from the national scheme of things'.

3. Biafra: Police Parade IPOB Members Arrested Near Oyigbo

The Rivers state Commissioner of Police (CP), Joseph Mukan, on Thursday, paraded four persons suspected to be members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

4. COVID-19: Suspend Academic Activities Immediately, NUC Tells Universities

Following the second wave of COVID-19, the National University Commission (NUC) has asked the management of Universities in Nigeria to immediately suspend academic activities that will lead to a large gathering in the school premises.

Announcing this development, Chris Maiyaki the deputy director of  NUC said that classroom, hostels accommodation, conferences and seminars should be suspended. Read more here.

5. Nigeria Under Buhari Is Journeying Into Darkness- Bishop Kukah

Mathew Kukah, the Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese, has on Friday warned that Nigeria under the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration is journeying into darkness.

Kukah who spoke on the current state of the nation said that the incessant killing of innocent citizens was related to a more sinister plot that is beyond the comprehension of Nigerians. Read more here.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, on Friday approved the deployment of the five newly-promoted Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs) to various departments of the force.
