1. Benue State University's Scholarship Programmes Has Benefited Over 2,000 Students - VC

The Benue State University (BSU), disclosed that more than 2,000 students have benefited from the institution's scholarship programmes.

This was revealed by the university's Vice-Chancellor, Moses Kembe, whose tenure began in 2015 and expires this year. Read more here.

2. MASSOB, Southeast Leaders Meet To Discuss Demands

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and governors of states in the south-east have met to discuss the demands of members of the movement to ensure that peace reigns in the region.

The meeting was held at the Government House in Enugu State, Chaired by David Umahi of Ebonyi State and head of the Southeast Governors’ Forum. Read more here.

3. #EndSARS: IGP Commends Police Officers For 'Acting Professionally'

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has commended officers of the Nigeria Police Force for "acting professionally" during the #EndSARS protest.

Adamu, during a tour of the Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), commiserated with the officers who worked "to maintain peace and order". Read more here.

4. Akeredolu Gives 7 Days Ultimatum For Return of Illegally Acquired Arms

The Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu has issued a seven days ultimatum to the citizens of the state who are in illegal possession of arms and ammunition to return them to the state.

Issuing the ultimatum in a statement by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogoon on Friday, 30th of October 2020, Akeredolu directed that such arms should be submitted to the Commandant of Amotekun at the Pa Fasoranti’s Gardens, Alagbaka, Akure. Read more here.

5. Osun To Start Payment Of N30,000 Minimum Wage From 1st Of November

The Executive Governor of Osun state Gboyega Oyetola has revealed that the state will commence payment of the N 30,000 minimum wage from 1st of November 2020.

Making this announcement in a series of tweets on Friday, the Governor also revealed that the state had lifted the ban on annual salary increment. Read more here.

6. Buhari Minister, FIFA Agree On Youth Football Development

Minister of Youth and Sports Development  Sunday Dare alongside Ministers from selected countries on Friday had an online meeting with the top brass of the World Football Governing body, FIFA where it was agreed that a new course must be taken to ensure youth football development. 

Speaking during the third edition of the Town Hall with Nigerian  Youths, Dare said " The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development is working with the Nigerian  Football Federation in collaboration with the La Liga to organize training for coaches. We have asked the NFF to expand this programme to ensure that young coaches get proper training. I would take the message of Youth coaches training back to the NFF so that this can be expanded. 7. Lagos BRT Finally Resumes Operations

The Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), Primero Transport Services Ltd. has today, October 30 commenced operations in Lagos State following the relaxation of curfew by the State Government.

The transport company had on Thursday, October 29 released a statement announcing their intention to resume operations today, Friday which will run from 7 am to 6 pm daily. Read more here.
