The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has revealed that Nigeria will be a safe place when politicians desist from using criminals and political thugs for election.

Marketers of cooking gas have attributed the recent price increase of the product to its massive importation which is causing untold hardship to end-users.

The Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa on Wednesday said the website given to Nigerians in Diaspora to register their National Identification Number (NIN) has crashed.

The Commission Chairman who made this known via her verified Twitter handle on Wednesday afternoon said the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) is presently working on it to restore the website back to enable users to register before the set deadline. Read more here.

8. NSE Index: Access Bank, Flour Mills Boost Stock Market With Billions In Trade Value

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market closed with 4,316 deals on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, lower than the 4,948 deals it closed with on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. The volume reached 1,497 billion units at the close of the market on Wednesday, higher than the 442,22 million units it closed with on Tuesday.

The value of trades recorded on Wednesday was NGN18,748 billion, higher than the NGN10,287 billion of Tuesday. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the All-Share Index reached 38,803.74 index points, higher than the 37,893.61 All-Share Index of Tuesday. Read more here.

A new study has shown that the number of Nigerians living in unclean environments has increased from 68 million in 2019 to 170 million in 2020.

This is according to performance indicators from a study by Clean-up Nigeria (CUN) which also rated Abuja as the cleanest city in Nigeria, while Akwa Ibom State emerged as the cleanest state in the country in the study. Read more here.
