Nigerian players in Tuesday's Epic UEFA Champions League

Nigerian players were in action in Europe's grandest stage as the UEFA Champions League took centre stage on Tuesday night.

The likes of AC Milan, Royal Antwerp and FC Porto have Nigerians representing them in the mix.

And their performance would be worth taking note of even as we look forward to today's encounter in Europe.

Here, AllNews.ng evaluates the performance of Nigerian players abroad in the UEFA Champions League.

Group F

AC Milan 1-3 Borussia Dortmund

Samuel Chukwueze was on from the start but he was replaced by Chaka Traore in the 77th minute.

Chukwueze got his maiden goal on the night when he equalized in the 37th minute courtesy of an assist from Davide Calabria to bring the scores to 1-1.

In the same game, Nigerian-born talent Karim Adeyemi was on the score sheet to make it 1-3 for Borussia Dortmund.

He scored in the 69th minute courtesy of an assistance from talismanic forward Marco Reus who got the breakthrough goal for Dortmund in the 10th minute of the game.

Group G

Manchester City 3-2 RB Leipzig

Nigerian-born Manuel Akanji was on from start to finish as his side secured maximum points against RB Leipzig.

He featured in the midfield contributing his quota as the Citizens ran out 3-2 winners on the night.

Group H

Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 Royal Antwerp

Two of Nigerian exports, Alhassan Yusuf and Chidera Ejuke were in action for Antwerp when they faced host Shakhtar Donetsk at home.

Alhassan Yusuf started the game but was hauled off in the 73rd minute to be replaced by George Ilenikhena. While Chidera Ejuke came on in the 46th minute to replace Gyrano Kerk.

Barcelona 2-1 FC Porto

Nigeria and FC Porto left-back Zaidu Sanusi was on from start to finish as his side lost 2-1 to Spanish giants Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League clash on Tuesday.
