Nigerian Stock Exchange Price List Shows NB Lead Gainers, NN

Nigerian Stock Exchange Price List: The latest Nigerian stock market today brought news of the exchange closing at 4,231 deals on Friday, September 25, 2020, higher than the 3,576 deals it closed with on Thursday, September 24, 2020, while the volume reached 335.7 million units at the close of the market on Friday, lower than the 359.3 million units it closed with on Thursday.

The value of trades recorded on Friday was NGN4,277 billion, higher than the NGN3,873 billion of Thursday. Meanwhile, on Friday, the All-Share Index reached 26,319.34 index points, higher than the 25,987.14 index points it ended trading with on Thursday. The stock market also ended with NGN13,754 trillion equity capitalisation on Friday, higher than the NGN13,581 trillion of Thursday.

Top Five Gainers

Nigerian Breweries led the top gainers' chart after its stock price gained NGN4.7 kobo to close trading at NGN52.55 kobo per share after opening today's trading with NGN47.85 kobo per share, this is according to Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market data seen by AllNews. Presco was second on the table, as its stock price gained NGN3.5 kobo to close the market with NGN53 per share, having started trading today with NGN49.5 per share.

Dangote Cement was the third top gainer as its stock price closed the market with NGN3.1 kobo gain to move from the opening price of NGN135.9 kobo per share to NGN139 per share. Stanbic IBTC came next, closing the market with a gain of NGN1,4 kobo to end trading with NGN40.5 kobo per share from the opening share price of NGN39.1 kobo per share. Flour Mill was last on the top five gainers' table after its share price rose from NGN20.15 kobo per share to close trading at NGN21.5 kobo per share, after gaining NGN1.35 kobo.

Top Five Losers

On the top of the losers' list is NNFM, which had begun trading earlier today at NGN4.5 kobo per share, only to drop in price by NGN-0.45 kobo to close at NGN4.05 per share at the end of trading today. Cadbury was second on the chart after closing at NGN7 per share from its opening trade price of NGN4.4 kobo per share; this represents a drop of NGN-0.4 kobo. Oando also recorded a drop in its share price as it declined by NGN-0.22 kobo to close trading at NGN2.03 per share, below the NGN2.25 kobo per share it opened with.

UAC Nigeria also recorded a drop in its share price as it declined by NGN-0.2 kobo to close trading at NGN6.1 per share, below the NGN6.3 kobo per share it opened with. Dangote Sugar completed the top five losers chart after it closed trading with NGN12.3 kobo per share, declining by NGN-0.2 kobo from the NGN12.5 kobo per share it opened trading with.

Top Five Trades

AllNews learnt that the top trades in the stock market for today were Sterling Bank, which traded a volume of over 79.5 million units worth NGN92.3 million. Zenith Bank was the second most traded stock today with over 50.7 million units worth over NGN878.6 million. First Bank was next on the list, trading 34.2 million units worth NGN176.2 million.

UBA was the fourth on the most traded stock list, closing the market with over 26.6 million units traded at a cost of over NGN163.1 million, while Access Bank completed the top five list with over 22.2 million units traded today, worth NGN147.9 billion.
