The Nigerian troops formation of Operation Hadin Kai have repelled an attack by the Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State.
The terrorists had ambushed the troops while escorting commercial vehicles along Damboa road.
TheCable reports that a security expert on the Lake Chad axis, Zagazola Makama said the troops engaged the terrorists while occupants of the vehicles scampered for safety.
According to him: “The jihadists rained heavy gunfire on the Military convoy moving in armoured and soft-skin vehicles, escorting commercial vehicles but the troops are currently responding to them."
“There is no certain figure of casualties yet," he added
The security expert had revealed plans by the terrorists to ambush military formations in the North East region.
