Youngest CEOs In Nigeria

If there is something to remember the Nigerian youths for, it is indeed their creativity and resilience such that no matter the odds, you can still see them continue to innovate and create solutions to the problems they face.

You see the enterprise of Nigerian youths on display in soccer, STEM, software engineering, sports generally, and lately, catering, thereby drawing the attention of Guiness Book of Records.

This much has been recently acknowledged by the telecoms giant's foundation in Nigeria, MTN Foundation, in saying that it has high hopes for the creativity and resilience of youths in the country.

The MTN Foundation is an independent, non-profit public-benefit corporation established by MTN Group, a telecommunications giant in Africa and the Middle East.

The mission of the Foundation is to improve the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged communities, with a focus on access to education, health, economic empowerment, and clean water and sanitation.

It works in partnership with governments, development organisations, and private sector partners to deliver solutions that have a sustainable impact.

The Executive Secretary of MTN Foundation, Odunayo Sanya, made this known while announcing the call for its annual undergraduate scholarship award.

"We believe in the creativity and resilience of the Nigerian youth.

"They can potentially change the world and put Nigeria on the global map in positive ways as we can already see.

“The role of quality education in empowering the youth for exploits cannot be overemphasised.

"We are glad to stand with them through the MTN scholarships.”

A statement by the telecoms company said the award sought to recognise and reward high-performing students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions.

It targeted undergraduates in science and technology-related courses and blind students in any field of study.

The statement said to apply for the MTN Foundation Scholarship, applicants studying science and technology-related courses in any Nigerian public tertiary institution (universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education) and blind students were required to attain a set cumulative grade point average score.

It added that to date, the foundation had awarded scholarships to  4,590 students.

Conclusion

Again, the innovative spirit and resilience of Nigerian youths are truly inspiring.

Certainly, great things will come from this talented young generation of Nigerians.

Time and space will be inadequate in mentioning names here but, amongst other sectors, Nigerian youths have been noticed making waves in the technology space with Fintech solutions that address everyday problems.

This explains why the MTN Foundation is so impressed as to give out several scholarships to these youths.
