Nigerians Don't Value What They Have, Says Ali Ndume

Senator Ali Ndume has praised former President Goodluck Jonathan, adding that Nigerians did not value him during his time as the President of Nigeria.

He revealed that at the weekend at Apo Legislative Quarters in Abuja, during the opening of Dr PhysiQ Specialist Centre for Wellness and Medical Lifestyle Change and the public presentation of a book titled, ‘Everything Heals’, written by Dr Susana Adams, the centre’s chief executive officer.

Ndume as well stated that he had apologized for having criticized the former President during his time as the country's leader.

The Borno South Senatorial District lawmaker further stated: “Nigerians don’t value what they have until they lose it.”

He also added saying: “I want to appreciate Mr. President (Jonathan). As they say, you never know what you have until you lose it. Nigerians now know that”, he said.

Ndume further commended Jonathan for the political culture and landscape of the country during his time as the President of Nigeria, adding that “You don’t know how great you are in the eyes of those that were skeptical, those that didn’t know you and those that did not come close to you,” he added.

The Senator further recalled his long-stretched legal battle over alleged ties with the Boko Haram sect, he narrated his arrest and detention by the Department of State Services (DSS),saying: “I went to court for six years. When I was vindicated, I had the opportunity to run into him (Jonathan). He said, ‘Ndume, you have been patient and God has vindicated you, take this as a part of blessings from the Almighty’.”

Present at the event were dignitaries like Former President, Goodluck Jonathan as well as former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, and others.
