Nigerians Drag Buhari's Aide Over Tweet Endorsing Death For

Twitter is currently agog as Nigerians drag one of President Buhari’s media aide, Bashir Ahmad over his tweet supporting death sentence for persons found guilty of blasphemy.

AllNews understands that the tweet surfaced in the wake of the death penalty handed out to a Kano singer, Yahaya Sharif-Aminu who was found guilty of committing blasphemy for a song he circulated via WhatsApp in March 2020.

However, AllNews reports that Bashir Ahmad shared in 2015, supporting the death penalty for blasphemy which he described as his “belief”.

The tweet read;

“I can't pretend or keep silent. I support the death penalty for BLASPHEMY. That’s my belief and I do not and will never support”.

Unfortunately, the above tweet has led a great number of aggrieved Nigerians asking how he is different from Boko Haram insurgents who mete out the same treatment to those they accuse of blasphemy.
