There have been outcries in the streets of social media after #EndSars protesters at the Lekki tollgate, Lagos came under heavy gunfire.
AllNews earlier reported that the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced a 24-hour curfew, due to perceived violence.
However, the protesters at Lekki toll gate remained at the protest ground, as bullets fired by security operatives hit some persons.
Reports say at least one died, others feared dead and several injured.

The security agents were said to have moved into Lekki at about 6:30 pm, turning off the light in the general area and cameras removed.
Upon the gunfire at the Lekki tollgate, some Nigerians have taken to the micro-blogging platform to pour out their grievances
Below are some tweets
People are being killed by security forces in Lekki & other parts of Lagos right NOW! I warned this would happen. Genocide & mass murder is being perpetuated against the Nigerian people by their own Govt.. Dead bodies everywhere! This madness must stop! #Buharimustgo #EndSARS pic.twitter.com/DnpBIVHWHJ

This government took actual terrorists, paid them money and sent them back into the society.
Then the same government sent soldiers with brand new armoured tanks to shoot live bullets at unarmed citizens at a toll gate.
We will never forget 20/10/20.

Nigerian government under Buhari @MBuhari and Osinbajo @ProfOsinbajo set soldiers to shoot at peaceful protesters at Lekki toll gate.
We might not be around but we want those around then to not forget.#EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria
Waiting to see the first government official that will resign after this brutal massacre of peaceful protesters in Lekki. #EndSARS

History will forever be unkind to President @MBuhari. Under his watch, at the Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos, Nigerian soldiers shot live bullets at young, unarmed, innocent protesters demanding an end to police brutality.

The history books will forever remember you for this!#EndSARS
The army not only killed at Lekki. They also took the dead bodies. No mainstream media on ground covering this - only social media giving updates. It’s how the government have been killing & hiding Nigerians for years & we don’t know. Social media exposing them now. Nigeria! ?

They have turned off the lights in Alausa like they did on October 8th to us and in Lekki tonight before the shootings started.

The conscienceless, cold-blooded, state-sponsored murder of unarmed protesters in Lekki asking for an end to police brutality dramatizes, more than anything, d reason for d #EndSARS protest & why Nigerians don't believe d promises d gov't made to d protesters. Sad day for Nigeria
