Nigerians React As Lai Mohammed Uses Ministry's Twitter Handle For Political Activity

The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, Monday used the official Twitter handle of the ministry to release a report of the on-going registration activities of the All Progressive Congress in Kwara State.

The act has generated negative reactions from many Nigerians, many of who took to Twitter to lash out at the minister.

Kayode Ade El said the minister cannot use the ministry's handle to settle political scores.

"This is wrong! You can't use govt resources for a political party matter. You can't be reacting to @OfficialAPCNg local issue with official ministry handle. Otherwise, you have to use the same for @OfficialPDPNig and every other 50+ parties," he said.

Ifeanyichukwu said it is an abuse of office for the minister to use the handle for partisan activities.

This is nothing but abuse of office. You can't use official government handle to tweet your political part information. That's what @OfficialAPCNg account was created to handle.
