Musa Abubakar, a national of the Republic of Niger, who is suspected of supplying arms in Zamfara State has been arrested by troops of Operation Sahel Sanity, the Nigerian Army states.
The disclosure was made by the Army Acting Director of Defence Media Operations, Bernard Onyeuko, on Tuesday.
It was revealed that Abubakar who is also called Kasko/Buzu, comes from Mai Wake village in Maradi, Niger Republic.
Abubakar was picked up last Wednesday on a school premises in Gusau, capital of Zamfara State, where a relative of his works as a security personnel.

The statement also stated that Abubakar sold illegal arms from Niger Republic through Sokoto State.
The army spokesperson said, “The suspect is believed to be involved in the supply of illicit arms from the Niger Republic to Nigeria through Sabon Birni and Isa LGAs of Sokoto State.
“The suspect is in custody and providing useful information to the troops."
The Exercise Sahel Sanity operation began on 6 July 2020 in a bid to alleviate the rate f banditry, kidnapping and other crimes plaguing states in the north.
