Nikita Pearl Waligwa Dies At 15

15-year-old Ugandan actress, Nikita Pearl Waligwa, popularly known for her role "Gloria" in Disney movie titled "Queen of Katwe", is died

The young actress has been a cancer survivor as she has earlier been diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Late Waligwa played the role of Gloria, who explained the rule of chess to Phiona.

The movie was shot in 2016 and starred characters including Lupita Nyong'o, David Oyelowo and others.

The Ugandan movie depicts the life story of Phiona Mutesi, who through chess, changed the tone of the event in her life.

In 2016, Waligwa was for the first time diagnosed with a brain tumour and through the support of the Queen of Katwe's director, Mira Nair, funded her treatment in India

In 2017, She was tested free from the tumour which seemed like a renewed era for the young star until last year when she was found to have had another cyst.
