Nine Killed, Six Others Injured In Adamawa Auto Crash

No fewer than nine persons were killed and six others injured on Wednesday after a truck conveying laterite sand lost control, causing an accident in Adamawa State

Eyewitnesses said that the truck drove off the road after the driver lost control at the Vunoklang intersection, close to the Jimeta bridge, and struck other cars before striking a repair shop where the workers were killed.

According to reports, the truck's driver fled the scene and left his truck behind.

Outraged by the incident, young people set fire to the truck, starting a fire that spread to nearby businesses and caused damage.

Yelwa Dio, the sector commander for the Federal Road Safety Commission in the state confirmed the occurrence and stated that individuals who suffered injuries had been taken to a hospital.
