Niyi Akinmolayan Shares Eye-Opening Social Experiment About Male Actors

Popular Nigerian filmmaker Niyi Akinmolayan put on a social experiment recently on Instagram to know how popular male actors are in the industry.

The director wanted to find out which actor would get people to throng to the cinemas if he was the lone star of a movie cover.

The experiment which came in form of a poll pulled massive engagement from both fans and actors alike.

The filmmaker went on Instagram and posted "Which Nollywood male star will make you see a film if he was the only one on the poster?"

Akinmolayan who is known to be a vocal supporter of good movies went on to share: "The fact that I couldn't get one actor choice to be 50% and above from the polls shows that it might still be hard to put one actor on a poster for a commercial Nollywood."

He also went on to add that from the polls, he could say that male stars won't happen until we start to invest more heavily in action, crime and the  thriller genres.
