NMA Laments Insecurity In Kogi, Says Doctors Fleeing

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Kogi State has lamented the security situation in the state, adding that members are fleeing to avoid being kidnapped.

This was disclosed by the chairman of the association, Dr Abubakar Hassan in Lokoja, the state's capital.

Hassan, after an emergency meeting, stated that the kidnappers had become stronger and acted without fear as a security effort is not encouraging.

Recall that a staff of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Dr Rukayat Musa was kidnapped on June 21, 2022.

Meanwhile, Hassan revealed that Musa has been released by her abductors as reported by Daily Trust.

The NMA further called for the intervention of the Kogi state government in improving the fighting power of security agencies.

He added that this will help the security agencies face the threat with full force.
