The federal government has filed additional nine grounds in its appeal against IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.
In the hearing which resumed on Thursday, the Supreme Court led by a five-man panel accepted the additional grounds against the Court of Appeal that discharged and acquitted Kanu.
The permission was granted by the court presided by Justice John Okoro in its ruling on a motion for leave moved by the counsel of the Nigerian government, Tijani Gazali.
The federal government was also granted leave to add the additional nine grounds to its amended notice of appeal dated October 28 2022.
The court was informed by Kanu's lawyer, Mike Ozekhome that motions had been filed by his client.
Ozekhome disclosed that one of the motions included one in which he is praying to be relocated to Kuje prison from the facility of the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to him, the embattled leader was seriously ill and needed urgently proper medical attention, which could be accessed at Kuje Prison.
The case was adjourned to May 11 after the hearing.
