Nnamdi Kanu: IPOB Leader's Trial Adjourned Indefinitely After Absence From Court

Nnamdi Kanu: IPOB Leader's Trial Adjourned Indefinitely Afte

The trial of detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu was adjourned indefinitely on Monday after he defied the court by refusing to show up.

The trial case was put off sine die at the instance of Kanu by Justice Binta Nyako pending the resolution of the federal government’s appeal against the October 13 judgement of the Court of Appeal that discharged him from the terrorism charges.

AllNews Nigeria previously reported that Kanu's refusal to show up at the Federal High Court in Abuja as a way of protesting his continued detention despite an Appeal Court discharging him of the terrorism charges against him.

The counsel for the federal government, Mohammed Abubakar informed Justice Binta Nyako of Kanu's absence, saying that all efforts to make the IPOB leader change his mind proved futile.

Kanu plans to be absent from his trial until the October 13 judgement of the Court of Appeal is respected and obeyed by the government.
