Nnamdi Kanu Is Dead, Social Media Personality Claims

Nnamdi Kanu Is Dead, Social Media Personality Claims

Social media personality, Kemi Olunloyo has claimed that the leader of the proscribed  Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is dead.

Allnews understands that this is not the first time Olunloyo would assert that the self-exiled Kanu died away from Nigeria.

She first raised the claim last Tuesday via her well-followed Twitter handle, only for her to retract her assertion later.

Olunloyo, like Kanu is a controversial figure.

In August 2012, Olunloyo was arrested in her apartment in Toronto by agents from the Canada Border Services Agency. After being determined a flight risk when her refugee visa was not renewed, she was remanded into custody at Vanier Centre for Women, a female maximum prison, for seven days before she was deported to Nigeria.

On March 14, 2017, Olunloyo was arrested by men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) over a controversial statement she made earlier in March about ex Nigeria president, Olusegun Obasanjo.

Over 48 hours later on March 16, 2017, it was revealed that she was being held in a Port Harcourt prison on the order of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) over her story of actress Iyabo Ojo and Pastor David Ibiyeomie in adultery mess.

On her handle on Sunday night, Olunloyo, 55, said Kanu died at 52, and that "whoever is broadcasting is an impostor meant to keep IPOB together".

However, Olunloyo did not mention in her seven-tweet thread when exactly the IPOB leader died as she is claiming.

Meanwhile, while Allnews cannot confirm Olunloyo's claims regarding the possible death of Kanu as at the time of publishing this report, Allnews reports that Kanu did make his routine broadcast on Sunday evening as hundreds of his supporters followed online.
