Nnamdi Kanu Laments DSS Denying Him Visitors Of His Choice

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) claims that the Department of State Service (DSS) is refusing him access to visitors of his choosing.

Kanu complained that the security service had violated a previous court order granting him access to his visitors.

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu's counsel, revealed this after a routine meeting with Kanu at the DSS facility in Abuja on Monday.

According to a statement made by Ejiofor, the agitator's main counsel, Mike Ozekhome, has initiated contempt proceedings against the DSS Director General, Yusuf Bichi, for the refusal.

"Recently, the personnel of the SSS have extended their acts of lawlessness by denying Onyendu access to visitors of his choice, in clear violation of a subsisting court order," the statement reads in part.

“However, our erudite Lead Counsel – Prof. Mike Ozekhome, SAN has swung into action by commencing contempt proceedings against the Director General of the SSS to demand immediate compliance with all the Court Orders that the SSS is currently violating with impunity", the statement continued.

A few days back, prominent human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore disclosed that the Department of State Service (DSS) stopped him from visiting the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
