Nnamdi Kanu News Today: Read The Full Statement By ‘The Government Of Biafra’

Nnamdi Kanu News Today: Read The Full Statement By ‘The Go

The De-facto customary government of Biafra has warned the Nigerian government to ensure the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is within the standard of the conventional rule of law.

The government stated this in reaction to the arrest and continued detention of Kanu.

In a press release on Saturday signed by the estranged IPOB Deputy-Leader, Uche Okafor-Mefor, who is the de-facto customary government of Biafra’s Head of Information and Communication, it identified Kanu as its citizen, stating that it is monitoring the situation.

Nnamdi Kanu's rearrest

Recall Abubakar Malami, Nigeria's attorney-general, said last Tuesday that Kanu was “intercepted through the collaborative efforts of Nigerian intelligence and Security Services.”

He did not state where the separatist leader was arrested, but AllNews learnt that Kanu, who is believed to be based in the United Kingdom (UK), was seized in Kenya.

Kanu was repatriated to Nigeria and is scheduled to go to court again on July 26.
