Ifeanyi Ejiofor and Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN) in court

The leader of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has engaged human rights activist, Chief Mike Ozekhome, (SAN) in his battle against the Buhari-led federal government.

Ozekhome stormed the Federal High Court in company of Ifeanyi Ejiofor who had earlier been leading the team of lawyers for Nnamdi Kanu.

Ejiofor confirmed that changes have been effected in the defense in view of the new charges from the Federal Government.

As againts the seven-count charge, Nnamdi Kanu is now facing a fifteen-count amended charge preferred against him by the Federal Government.

According to a statement by Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, "Monday, January 17, 2022, we were served with a 15-Count Amended Charge filed by the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation in respect of a case already scheduled tomorrow, for the hearing of our Preliminary objection challenging the competence of the 7-Count Amended Charge"

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up at the Court premises and its environs.

All roads leading to the Court have been effectively blocked by operatives of the Department of the State Services, DSS, to ward off possible threat to life and businesses by hoodlums.
