Outspoken lawyer and cleric Reno Omokri has compared President Muhammadu Buhari to convicted killer Derek Chauvin in the ongoing Nnamdi Kanu trial.
The IPOB leader's trial continued on Thursday and was adjourned to November 10, 2021, amid the controversy that trailed newsmen being prevented from covering the moment.
Speaking on the case via his official Instagram account, Reno Omokri opined that President Muhammadu Buhari had something personal against Kanu.
According to Omokri, Buhari's "bruised ego" was behind his determination to exact revenge on the IPOB leader and he compared the national leader to George Floyd's killer, Derek Chauvin.
Omokri said, "It is now obvious that what is between General Buhari and Nnamdi Kanu is personal. Buhari has a very fragile ego, which is easily bruised. His grouse with Kanu is not Biafra. It is the insults Nnamdi Kanu threw at him. It is the same ego reaction that led to #TwitterBan.
"By deleting his tweet, Buhari felt insulted and knee jerk reacted to Twitter. Now, his knee is on Nnamdi Kanu, just like Derek Chauvin’s knee was on George Floyd.
"But Buhari should not declare Uhuru yet. He should remember what happened to Chauvin."
