NNPP Loses State Assembly Candidate To Jigawa APC

The New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) has lost its state House Assembly candidate, Mubarak Ahmed to the Jigawa state All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ahmed was contesting for the representative seat for Kafin Hausa constituency in the forthcoming election.

He was received on Friday by the Jigawa State Governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar at the state's government house in Dutse.

While officially announcing his defection to the APC, he told the governor that his decision was influenced by the people-oriented policies of the APC-led administration.

He said: "I have decided to join the APC because I believe that the party represents the best interests of the people of Jigawa State.

"The policies and programs of the APC have had a positive impact on the lives of Nigerians, and I am confident that I can contribute more to the development of our state as a member of the APC."

As contained in a statement on Friday by Auwal D. Sankara, the state's commissioner for Special Duties, the governor expressed joy over Ahmed's decision to dump the NNPP for the APC.

"I am delighted to receive Mubarak Ahmed into the APC.

"His decision to join our party is a clear indication that the APC is the party of choice in Jigawa State," the governor stated.

The Governor also assured Ahmed that he would be treated as a valued member of the APC.

He further promised to provide him with all the necessary support to ensure that he succeeds in his political career.

"We will work together as a team to ensure that our party remains strong and continues to deliver on its promises to the people of Jigawa State.

"We welcome Mubarak Ahmed to our great party and we look forward to working with him towards the development of our state."
