The announcement was made on Monday during a meeting between the IGP and senior police officers, commissioners, and DIGs across the states of the nation.

Baba stated that roadblocks remain prohibited in the country, warning that the directive be enforced by heads of commands who must key into the road patrol strategy as an alternative to roadblocks.

According to the IGP, some of the high-profile suspects being detained by the police include IPOB members, kidnappers, and bandits who have confessed to being behind some of the most heinous crimes recently.

Baba also emphasized the need for the senior police officers to ensure discipline in their different commands.

Some of the accomplishments recorded by the police in the last two months include the apprehension of more than 600 suspects, including those believed to have carried out the attack on Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom in March this year.
