The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah, amplified the thoughts of many Nigerians who continue to ask why President Muhammadu Buhari has remained silent throughout the #EndSARS crisis, stating that no one in his right mind can provide a reason as to why the president has remained silent.
Kukah said this in an interview with Channels Television on Wednesday, saying that he felt "totally helpless."
Until now, Buhari is yet to address Nigerians on the #EndSARS subject.
Protesters at the Lekki toll gate on Tuesday were subjects of an open fire from military officers.
Although Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has addressed the nation, Kukah believes that the address was a compensation for the silence of Buhari.
He said, “I really cannot understand this. I feel totally helpless in the sense that I cannot find any reason and I don’t think any Nigerian in the right frame of mind can find a reason to why the president has remained so silent on this crisis."
