No Plan To Arrest Youths Who Wear Dreads — Delta Police

Delta State Police Command Police has debunked viral reports which claimed that a special force has been formed to arrest youths with dreads and miniskirts in the state.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, debunked the reports in a terse statement on his X page on Sunday.

A viral report circulating on social media alleged that a special force has been trained in Delta State to arrest youths wearing rugged jeans and miniskirts, amongst other clothes.

Edafe wrote, “Members of the public particularly residents in Delta State are advised to completely disregard this.

“It is fake pls. PEACE.”

Reacting to the statement, a X user identified as GNwabudike said “I would have loved to see this work though.... It will help curb indecency in our State.”

Corroborating the spokesperson, another user: DaddyTara wrote, “My wife just talked about it and I told her its fake, and if it were to be real, there would be an uproar...”
