The North East Governor's Forum has on Tuesday held it's 5th meeting in Jalingo, Taraba State.
The meeting which had in attendance governors of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe States discussed the challenges bedeviling the sub-region.
In a communique signed by the chairman of the forum, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum FNSE, Mni, Governor of Borno state, the forum resolved among others noting the security improvement of the sub-region.
The forum also praised the Nigeria security agencies and called for continuous collaboration.
More so, the forum called on diplomatic community, partners and donor agencies supporting the sub-region "to activate the process of transiting from humanitarian to stabilization and durable solution within the region."
While noting the negative impact of drug and narcotic substances in the sub-region, the forum called for support to curtail the menace within and across the borders.
The forum scheduled it's next meeting for Saturday, October 9, 2021, in Damaturu, Yobe State.
