Femi Gbajabiamila
The Northern House of Representatives Caucus says there is no truth to stories of impeachment moves against the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila.
There are unconfirmed stories that the Northern caucus would attempt to impeach the speaker for failure to support the controversial water resources bill.
But laying the speculation to rest in Tuesday's plenary in the capital Abuja, the Chairman, Northern Caucus, Seriki Addah denied the move, saying there was no time that they held a meeting over the matter.
"This is a sad day and coming at a time we should be talking of how to unite this country and provide leadership, we are being dragged down by agents of destabilisation," he said.
Addah said the Northern representatives feel betrayed by the publication despite their huge support for Gbajabiamila against a Northerner who contested for the seat he currently occupies.
