Nothing Is Impossible — Pioli Dares Milan To Dream Of UCL

Stefan Pioli

AC Milan's coach Stefano Pioli has expressed his team's aspirations to go all the way in the Champions League after they knocked out Tottenham Hotspur to reach the quarterfinals for the first time since 2012.

On a freezing night in London, Milan claimed a 1-0 aggregate victory to advance in the competition.

Pioli stated, "I like to think there’s nothing impossible in sport. Clearly, only the best in Europe remain, and each round gets more difficult, but I am sure that all the European experiences, especially the negative ones – help us step up a level. Now we must go into the quarterfinal with confidence and belief."

After a dismal start to the year, Milan has climbed to fifth place in Serie A, tied with AS Roma, who currently occupy the fourth and last place that gives Champions League football next season.

Pioli emphasized the importance of playing in the Champions League, stating that it is "gratifying and important for Milan."

He added that Milan could either win the competition, which he acknowledged as not being easy or try to qualify by finishing in the top four in Serie A.

Milan has already booked their spot in the last eight with Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Benfica, while the remaining four teams will be decided next week.

Pioli expects that Milan will face a formidable opponent in the quarterfinals, but he believes that his team can compete against any team in the competition.

Pioli concluded by saying that Milan needs to focus on Serie A, where they have some lost ground to make up.

The draw for the quarterfinals will take place on March 17, and Milan will eagerly await their next challenge in the competition.
