NPC Conducts Trail Census In Frequently Attacked LGAs

The National Population Commission (NPC) has expressed satisfaction over the trial census conducted in nine local government areas of Sokoto State frequently attacked by bandits.

The local government areas include Wurno, Rabah and Tureta Shagari, Wamakko, Gwadabawa, Silame, Sokoto South and Tambuwal.

Speaking after monitoring the exercise in some of the areas, the national commissioner in charge of Sokoto, Chiso Dattijo, expressed satisfaction with the way residents cooperated with the enumerators.

“I am impressed with the way the trial census is taking place, especially areas that have been experiencing bandits attacks.”

“I must commend our enumerators, traditional rulers, local authorities and even the residents for their support and cooperation,” he said

The Commission was optimistic that the trial census would be hitch-free, saying so far there was no report of any challenge from any of our enumerators.
