The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has paraded 34 suspects arrested for kidnapping, armed robbery and car theft.
While parading the suspects in Abuja, the Nigerian Police Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba said 2 females were among the 34 specialized in transporting weapons and ammunition for their boyfriends.
He added that they shuttle between states to deliver the arms.
He further stated that one of the suspects, Bashiru Sule operates in Northeast and Northwest as a driver.
He explained that Sule usually goes to the park in Kano, loads passengers and lead them to the kidnappers who according to plans were already waiting.
Explaining further, Mba added that the suspect sometimes goes to the park as a passenger while informing the kidnappers when the car takes off.
Subsequently, the kidnappers attack the vehicle and abduct the passengers.
Sule who confessed to the crime said many people have been kidnapped with his help and the kidnappers pay him for the delivery.
He added that two major motor parks in Kano were his gang's operation ground.
The force PRO called on operators at the motor parks to make sure they know who comes to load and ensure caution while dealing with drivers.
During the operation that lead to the arrest of the 34 suspects, 15 stolen cars were recovered from the thieves who operate in Kano, Kaduna, and Jigawa states.
The suspects revealed that they take the cars to Chad and Niger Republic for sale.
Mba further stated that jammers were used by the thieves to hamper any means of tracking the stolen cars.
