NPFL 2021: What Kano Pillars Boss Said After Team's Loss Vs

Lionel Emmanuel Soccoia, the technical adviser of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) giants, Kano Pillars, has expressed dismay with his side's 2-3 loss at Dakkada F.C. on Sunday.

According to Soccoia, his players started the game so well, but failed to convert their chances early in the first-half.

“We supposed to finished up the game in the first 45 minute considering the begging chances we got,” Lionel lamented.

According to the French tactician, the Sai Masu Gida paid dearly for their mistakes in the game.

Pillars surrendered a two-goal lead (both scored in the first half) to lose 3-2 against Dakkada in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

Pillars took the lead as early as the 10th minute of the encounter through Rabiu Ali’s spotkick, after a Dakkada defender was adjudged to have touched the ball inside the 18-yard box.

Before the half-hour mark, the Pride of Kano stretched their lead on the evening to 2-0 courtesy of Gerome Henchong. The defender slotted home for his first goal for the club after he received a fine pass from Auwalu Ali Malam.

However, Christian Ekong reduced the deficit for the home side to 2-1 in the 38th minute of the game.

The first 45 minutes ended with Pillars leading by two goals to one.

After the restart, Dakkada levelled the scores through Philips Archibong in the 48th minutes, before substitute, Isaac George completed a remarkable comeback for the home side 14 minutes before the final whistle.

Pillars goalkeeper, Idris Ibrahim had fouled a Dakkada player inside the box and the referee pointed to the spot. Substitute, Isaac George, stepped in to convert the resulting spot kick to give his side the maximum points.

All efforts made by the Aiteo cup holders to come back into the game proved abortive as the game ended 3-2 in favour of the home side.
