NPFL: Eguma Attributes Draw Against Abia Warriors To Tight Schedule

NPFL: Eguma Attributes Draw Against Abia Warriors To Tight S

Stanley Eguma, the gaffer of Rivers United, has attributed yesterday's outcome of his side's clash with Abia Warriors to a tight schedule.

The reigning NPFL champions laboured to a 1-1 draw against visiting Warriors at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.

Abia Warriors drew first blood as Nweke Kalu opened the scoring to give his side a first-half lead.

The home team then responded with an equaliser deep into stoppage time as Morice Chukwu scored from the spot.

Lamenting about the match at full-time, Eguma said: “It’s a game of football, we ended up playing 1-1.

"It was a fair one, though a difficult match for us.

“The wear and tear of the fixtures is telling on us.

"You see the way we play, we didn’t play our normal game.”

Up next, the Pride of Rivers will visit Lobi Stars for another league clash on Wednesday.
