NPFL: George Finidi Hails Enyimba's Strong Start Against El

Enyimba's head coach George Finidi heaped praises on his team for wrapping up their matchday six clash against El Kanemi Warriors in the first half.

Findi's men scored two goals in the first 45 minutes to down El Kanemi Warriors 2-0 at the Enyimba Stadium on Sunday evening.

Emeka Obioma helped the People's Elephant bounce back from the loss they suffered against Remo Stars with a brace.

The forward's opener arrived just after the midpoint of the half when he received Sadi Abubakar’s pass and fired on the turn into the left corner to spread relief at the Enyimba Stadium.

He completed his job at the brink of half-time, heading in from close range after being set up by the lively Ademola Adebambo to take his season’s tally to four.

Finidi, in his post-match news conference, expressed his satisfaction with his players starting the game strong.

"It's always good," he said. "We know in the Nigerian league if you don't score in the first half you start seeing a lot of things such as delay tactics.

"Whatever the opponents fear, they've to do it to get that result.

"But when you score, you'll see that they will come out to play.

"We would have won 3-0 or 4-0 but we didn't take our chances.

"At the end of the day I'm happy with the win, two goals and three points."

The outcome of the match means that Enyimba are closing in on Bendel Insurance and Remo Stars on the log with 10 points as against 16 and 12 points garnered by the Group A leaders.
