NPFL: Heartland FC Players Protest Over Unpaid Nine-Month Sa

With the resumption of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), players of Owerri's Heartland FC have staged a protest over unpaid salaries for a period of nine months.

The video was found on the internet on Wednesday, where the players were seen carrying cardboard while moving along the city with some of the cards reading "It Is Our Right To Be Paid After Work".

The Heartland players were dressed in the club's jersey while they move along the street as some players were speaking in pidgin saying "Make them pay us oo".

Heartland FC currently sit at 9th position of the NPFL standings with two wins, one draw and two losses accruing a total of 7 points so far.

They will face Abia Warriors on Sunday 16th January 2022 but it remains to be seen if the players will play without some payment at least some months from the total debt.
