NPFL: Imade's Rocket Free Kick Salvages Draw For Insurance Against Enyimba

A rocket free kick from Imade Osarenkhoe enabled Bendel Insurance to share the spoils against Enyimba in matchday 10 of the Nigerian top flight league.

Enyimba who hosted league leaders Insurance had gone in front after they were awarded a penalty in the first half.

Chukwuemeka Obioma stepped up to take the spot kick and made no mistake in stabbing it home in the 43rd minute as Enyimba took the lead into the break.

Insurance, despite being 1-0 down, played with grit in the second half to get back on level terms.

Their resilience eventually paid off with nine minutes left on the clock when Ebuka Akobundu was tripped close to the Enyimba box to win his team a free kick.

Osarenkhoe stood over the ball, 20 yards from goal, and kicked the ball with power and precision to beat the People's Elephants' defence wall and goalkeeper John Noble.

The result means that the Benin Arsenals are still unbeaten this term and maintain their leadership in Group A with 24 points after ten games.

They will next play Akwa United at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.
