NPFL: Kano Pillars Appoint Frenchman As New Boss

In the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has approved the appointment of French tactician, Lione Emmanuel as their new Technical Adviser, AllNews reports.

According to the Chairman of Pillars, Alhaji Surajo Shaaibu Yahaya Jambul, Governor Ganduje has given the approval in order to ensure that the Sai Masu Gida fulfill all the necessary requirements laid down by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The continent’s apex football body had given directives to all participating clubs for the 2020/2021 CAF club football competitions to hire coaches that possess CAF ‘A’ Licensing or its equivalent.

According to the Media Officer of the club, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa, Coach Emmanuel is already in Nigeria and will be unveiled on Wednesday, 21st October 2020.

He is expected to steer the African heavyweights to the forthcoming 2020/2021 CAF confederation cup.

“We concluded all the necessary contractual agreement with him and he will sign a one-year contract for us as soon as he arrives Kano on Wednesday," Alhaji Surajo said.

Jambul pointed out that the appointment of the new tactician will not meddle with club technical crew members but that there might be some tweak regarding their responsibilities in the club.

Lione Emmanuel had previously worked in some African countries like Cameroon, South Africa, Zambia among others, AllNews understands.
