NPFL: Kano Pillars React To Report They Took Away Competitor's Star Player

NPFL: Kano Pillars React To Report They Took Away Competitor

The management of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) giants, Kano Pillars have denied the report doing rounds in the media that they have 'took away Shooting Stars player, Ayobami Junior illegally'.

Shooting Stars (3SC) have recently claimed that Kano Pillars had snatched their captain, without following due process.

According to the chairman of the club, Alhaji Surajo Shuaibu Jambul in a statement signed by the media officer of the club, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa and seen by AllNews on Thursday, Pillars has no business with Shooting Stars concerning the said player.

Alhaji Surajo said he was surprised when he heard that 3SC are claiming that Ayobami is their property.

“Yes, we have written to them earlier about the said player, and we also requested them to allow us to talk to him. But we later withdrew due to their high demand and expectations on him," Jambul said.

He emphasized that the player has confirmed that his contract with 3SC had expired and all the documents concerning his change of allegiance are available as evidence.

“At last, Ayobami has joined us and confirmed that his contract with Shooting Stars FC have expired."

Alhaji Surajo, therefore, pointed out that Kano Pillars have no business with 3SC concerning the player.

According to the sport administrator, if his former club has issues with him, they should meet him directly not Pillars because they agreed to sign him based on the documents he presented as a free agent.

“Check our records. We have never signed a player illegally. We are always doing our best to see that we followed due process in all our dealings, and that is for the interest of the club, Kano State Government, and the good people of Kano state," Alhaji Surajo concluded.
