Nasarawa United boss Abubakar Arikya insists that his side will fight to avoid relegation despite the defeat to Plateau United last weekend.
The Solid Miners were resilient in the game but were condemned to a 1-0 defeat.
Arikya said the defeat was painful but believes his side can avoid relegation only if they reproduce the performance they displayed against Plateau.
“It’s painful that we lost this game in this fashion,” he said in a post-match interview.
“We still can avoid relegation if we continue to fight like we did in this game.
"We just need to work hard and pray for better luck.”
Nasarawa United are currently sitting in ninth position in Group A with 13 points from 15 games.
They have an uphill task of beating the drop with tough matches against Shooting Stars, Kwara United and league leaders Bendel Insurance still to come.
