Stanley Eguma, the head coach of Rivers United believes that the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) play-offs will produce the best teams to represent Nigeria in CAF club competitions next term.
A total of six teams are competing in the NPFL play-offs to produce the winner of the 2022/23 season.
Rivers United, the defending champions, are in the competition with Bendel Insurance, Enyimba International, Remo Stars, Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars.
They have garnered four points from two games in the playoffs which kicked-off at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on June 3 and will end on June 11.
Addressing reporters about the play-offs, Eguma said: “This competition is a very good avenue to know the best teams to represent Nigeria on the continent next season.
“Without any form of sentiment Nigerians have already seen the quality in teams that can represent them in the CAF club competitions next season.
“I am confident in any of our teams that will make it to the top three of the playoff to do well on the continental stage.”
