NPFL: Rangers Boss Seeks Termination Of Contract

NPFL: Rangers Boss Seeks Termination Of Contract

Rangers head coach Abdu Maikaba has issued a request to the management of the club to terminate his contract as fans of the club are displeased with him being in the saddle.

Maikaba was made a target by fans of the club who tried to attack him in their NPFL matchday three clash against Sunshine Stars at half-time before security personnel on ground intervened.

The game ended 1-1 as both sides had to share the spoils at the Awka City Stadium on Sunday, leaving the Flying Antelopes rooted to the bottom of the Group B table having picked up one point since the opening day.

Speaking to reporters in his post-match news conference, Maikaba said, “We have worked so hard, but unfortunately things are not going the expected way.

"And l would like if it is going to be possible to meet the representatives of the government of Enugu State to terminate my contract.

“They see me as the problem of the team, I really love this team, they have treated me so well but if am the problem, l would like to go.

“l would like the termination of this contract. I will be happy with that.

"You are a living witness, the problem, l don’t think it is purely technical but this is not the forum to discuss that.

"But to make it better for the team, if I am really the problem, it is better l leave so that the team will progress.”
