The International Federation of Football History and Statistics has ranked the Nigeria Professional Football League as the 57th strongest national league in the world and seventh in Africa.
The NPFL jumped from 77th in 2018 to 57th position in 2019.

The Tunisian Ligue 1 is ranked in the number one position in Africa, followed by Morocco, Egypt, Angola, South Africa, Zambia, Nigeria, and Algeria.
The English Premier League is ranked as the strongest league in the world, with Brazil, LaLiga, Serie A and Colombia’s Primera A in the top five.
