Rivers United were handed their first league defeat of the season in matchday six of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.
The defending champions fell to a 2-1 defeat against Doma United at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe.
Rivers United went in front first after Denis Ndasi opened the scoring in the 23rd minute.
But the host responded with a goal from Musa Usman in the 30th minute to level the game at the break.
Doma United completed their comeback in the second half courtesy of a brace from Usman in the 68th minute.
The result means the Pride of Rivers are second in Group B with 13 points, behind Lobi Stars on goal difference.
