NPFL Star Hails Ronaldo As 'An Inspiration'

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) star, Akila Jesse, who currently plies his trade with Plateau United says 'Cristiano Ronaldo is not just a footballer to me, but an Inspiration'.

AllNews reports that the former MFM FC of Lagos forward, via his known Twitter handle also lauded CR7's' 'hard work, commitment, and passion'.

On Tuesday, Paulo Dybala beat Juventus team-mate Ronaldo, 35, to this season's Serie A Player of the Year award.

Lega Serie A announced Dybala as the winner of the annual prize, with Ronaldo failing to retain the title he won in his first year at the Allianz Stadium.

Dybala recorded 11 goals in 33 Serie A outings for Juve this term, along with 11 assists.

Ronaldo on the other hand contributed 31 goals to the Bianconeri's triumphant cause, but his final tally was still five behind Lazio frontman Ciro Immobile, who earned the Capocannoniere.
