Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) giants, Kano Pillars will play its home matches for the 2020/2021 CAF Confederation Cup away from the pyramid city, AllNews reports.
Tafawa Balewa and Ahmadu Bello stadiums are two of the venues Sai Madu Gida would choose from as its adopted home for the preliminaries and possibly the group stages of the competition.
According to Alhaji Surajo Shuaibu Jambul, the chairman of the club recently, the Kano state Government has given approval for the team to look for an alternative venue for their home matches as Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, had been chosen as one of the COVID-19 isolation centers in the state.
The Chairman said that his management team would approach the management of the Tafawa Balewa and Ahmadu Bello stadiums to discuss the possibility of hosting the Pillars' continental assignments.
He stated that one of the stadiums will be chosen after due consultations with appropriate authority.
He further stressed that his management team and technical crew are working closely to ensure that the team progress to the group stages of the continental competition and ultimately bring the crown home.
Congratulations Kano pillars on winning the Challenge Cup, defeating Niger Tornadoes to clinch the victory at penalties. The last time Kano won the cup was in 1953. H.E @GovUmarGanduje & his deputy were in attendance at the Stadium in Kaduna.
